Zanpakuto Description: Even in its fully sealed state, Faust's zanpakuto is not a conforming piece of art in any way. Even its looks alones set it apart. It retains the look of the sword he carried with him back when he was alive. It has a very elogant hilt made of pure silver, showing off his wealth to enemies and comrades alike. The blade itself is a pure black which resmbles the darkest shadow, hinting to the arcane powers that lay cemented into the blade. The hilt is actually hollow. The bottom notch slides open on a spring loaded set up which can be moved with a single thumb. Then this is done, it is revealed that inside the hilt are five different wires which are extremely thin and difficult to see, but are as strong as the zanpakuto itself. It is also razor sharp and capable of slicing through human flesh. At the end of each wire is two senbon needles which are melded together in the middle section making it almost look like two fangs. In its sealed state, that is about the extent of its ability. However, it is capable of housing the hearts of fallen foes or comrades with in the blade itself. In its unreleased state these serve no purpose and will be further described in the released zanpakuto description and Bankai. The limit to the number of these hearts is three.

Released Zanpakuto Description: The power of Kuromassu is one of the most grotesque in the entire soul society. Unlike other kido based zanpakuto which create unique and mysterious attacks in an outward and blatantly offensive way, Kuromassu instead imbibes the user with a new power and ability which enhances the user greatly. When the phrase is recited, the blade will begin to write and wriggle in a very disgusting way making odd squishing noises. It will then grow slightly into a more solid like gooey nature, minus the stickiness, almost like putty. It will then break apart into several thin strands of black, each pointed on the end. The sword will wrench from the users grasp and point back towards the user, finalizing the release by impaling the user with the strands, and multiplying them rapidly, filling his or her body. The strands will create a layer between he muscles and the skin of the shinigami, causing their shape to slightly bulge. This will cause the user to lose 4 stat points in speed. Once fully released, they will lose an additional 5 stat points in stamina. It will also create a layer of these strands between every joint in the human body.

These strands are quite unique and ultimately very dangerous for an opponent. They at first are spongy and stringy, very flexible and durable. They are also pointed at the ends. With spiritual energy added though, they can go form very soft to very hard and nearly metallic like, having the same density as a zanpakuto. This can allow for several things. One they can be used to detach limbs partially and extending them much further past typical length. They can also exit the body and impale the opponent etc. They are also quite good for first aid involving lacerations as they can double as stitches. When used as stitches, they will "die off" as they are separated from the larger body of threads, and lose the ability to be used in other techniques involving the shikai, and will remain after the sword has been resealed. Each different ability will be described in the kido list of the user as well as further details as to stat drains etc.

As stated in the sealed zanpakuto description, the blade holds hearts int its released state. When the sword infects the user, these hearts will become a part of him. They can be moved around the body at will to keep them safe until they need to be used. If the user suffers a mortal wound to the heart they cant recover from, they can discard that heart and replace it with another one of these. Each of these hearts holds 30 stamina points each. It is a passive trait that this process is done by, as it is in the instinctive nature of the zanpakuto to do so.
