Basic InformationName: Yamauchi, Ryota
Age: One-hundred and Seventy Four (Age Appearance: Earlier-Mid twenties)
Gender: Male
Division: Formerly Fourth Division
Seat: Former Lieutenant
Looks: Ryota is the primary example of an image of a Vaizard, a once respected and praised individual who fell from grace as a Shinigami, and became a member of the masked army. Ryota is pretty tall, standing at six feet and five inches in total height. He is somewhat light, weighing in at about one hundred thirty five pounds. Day and night, Ryota trains himself, developing his body and mind to fight hollows and shinigami alike. He has a powerful physique, and has prominent muscular features, including bicep, abdominal, and pectoral muscles, forming a powerful upper body. The legs in his muscles are also strengthened, and he goes as far as to strengthen the muscles in his head. Ryota's hair is between medium and long length. His hair is black in color, and he has small bangs near the sides of his face. His forehead is visible.
His hair covers his ears, and he has the hair on the back of his head tied behind him. He appears to be of Caucasian descent. The skin on his face is relatively clear, and his eyebrows are also black. Ryota has a white shitagi, which is a traditional japanese undershirt, which he wears all of the time. Ryota also has a brown colored kosode, or a standard robe for traditional japan, with two white spots on two opposite sides of the upper torso. He has a pale yellow hakama, and a brown hakama-himo, which is just like a belt for him. He has the traditional tabi and waraji combo, which are traditional japanese socks and shoes. He carries his soul slayer in his hakama-himo.
Personality Having had such a difficult past has served to mold Ryota's personality to the way it is today. Since the day he was born, Ryota has always had the heart of a bull. He has a strong will that allows him to endure pain, and remain conscious after sustaining grievous damage. This strong will also allows him to protect his comrades as well as himself. His reflexes often cause him to defend against a deadly attack launched at a comrade, or somebody of importance instead of allowing the hit to strike. He tries to be a protector of others. He believes that he has a duty to guard everybody that is weaker than himself, because he believes that the strong should not pick on the weak, and should instead pick on others who are strong. He wants to defend people from the Hollows, as well as Arrancar, and protect his comrades from Shinigami who may be pursuing them.
Ryota is an absolutely strict person. When he sets out rules, he expects people to obey him. His rules are very strict, and he is not lenient when it comes to punishment. He will often personally beat people who break his rules. He does not do it out of spite, but because rules were made so that people could be protected. As a Lieutenant, he always did things according to rules and regulations. However, even as a Vaizard fugitive, he has not changed. He cares a lot for his subordinates. He acts as if they were his own children. Even if he sometimes seems distant from them, he desperately wants to protect those that he gives orders to because he tries to watch over them. Nobody knows why he has such a firm nature. Some people have theorized it is because he wants to be like a father figure, and be a good parent, just like his own mother was to him. Or at least, he knew that she could have been, if given the chance.
Ryota is a hard worker, and will train with his fellow Vaizard in order to gain more power. Ryota often gets frustrated with other people and life. If people disobey him, or annoy him, he will sometimes lose it, and chase them until their legs disintegrate. He is remarkably hot headed. His face will sometimes get red like a cartoon character, and throw fits of rage. But, his presence does bring comedic relief to the Vaizards, even if he is strict, and people have fun messing with him. But he does smile sometimes. To him, the Vaizards are like his family. He swears to defend them, no matter what happens to him. However, he does not lack common sense. He will not charge into a situation where his comrade will lose their life no matter what he is able to do. Even if he wants to protect his own, he knows that nobody lives forever, and sometimes letting the ones close to you go is the only option for you.
Ryota forgives, but he never forgets. If somebody has harmed himself, or others around him, he will always remain wary of this person or being. He rarely holds a grudge, but he can be seen shooting glares towards those people who have wronged him. Ryota often worries about others, and fears for the safety of those close to him. However, if somebody calls him on that, he will hurriedly dismiss it as false. When he sees that his junior Vaizards or trainees are doing well, it does him proud. He has pride in the Vaizards as well, and being a Vaizard. Most days Ryota will not stop thinking of his past, including his original mother. However, he has overcame this obstacle, and continues to live for the day, looking to the future.

Mask InformationName: Makaze
Manifestation: Makaze, the storm stirred by the devil himself, is a creature that can take on two different forms. Because Makaze as a part of the Hollow that was formerly Kiyoko, Ryota's mother, Makaze is able to take on her form. Kiyoko was once a beautiful young woman, in her mid twenties when she died. She had long, brown wavy hair, which had such magnificent shine that she was called the brightest person out of her family. She had warm eyes, and soft skin. She appears with a long skirt, and a short sleeved, brown shirt. She has long legs, and wore white shoes. She has pierced ears, and a magnificent body. However, she does not retain this great beauty. Because of Makaze's sadistic and cruel nature, she will often cause the image of Ryota's mother to be twisted, turning her gentle face to that of a cold person, and screwing with Ryota's head.
Makaze will often transform to her true form from the form of Ryota's mother. Her skin will begin to rot, and her veins will pop out. Here eyes will sink into her head, and she will scream like a banshee. Her skin literally turns green, and deteriorates. The true form of Makaze is nothing like the adopted form taken by the demon. Basically, Makaze is like a bat. A large, twelve foot high body, covered in brown, knotted fur, stuck together by dry blood. Her thin, short legs have vicious, large claws at the bottom, which he uses to grab hold of her prey, and spirit them away. In the middle of her breast is the hollow hole. Her arms are elongated as well as her fingers, with skin stretched between the fingers to form powerful wings, which can whip up storm winds. Rather than a bat's face, she bears a Hollow mask, which is human like, and has red stripes across, and blunt teeth on the outside, with sharp teeth on the mouth behind the mask. She has a pair of triangular ears on her head, with red inside of them. Her tongue is long and black. A truly grotesque monster
Unique Ability: By donning a Hollow Mask, Ryota gains access to some new abilities. Naturally, he gains the power to utilize a yellow colored cero, charging it with his arm or finger, and then firing it. In addition, his speed and agility increase, as well as his strength. Despite this, these are powers that the Hollow form naturally grants. The unique ability Makaze gives to Ryota is the ability to manipulate wind. Using his reiatsu to control air pressure, Ryota gives himself complete control over the way the air moves. Ryota can cause the wind to become similar to a sickle, and can cut up the enemy from a distance using these “reiatsu winds”. The hollow power in the wind allows Ryota to carve up souls in the malevolent wind caused by Makaze. In addition to using wind to cut, Ryota can also use wind to blow away. He can blow away other souls or living creatures with his intense winds. Even the attacks used by other Shinigami or Hollow can be blown away if weak enough. He can use different kinds of techniques with Makaze. When using his hollow mask, if he is using his Shikai, he will complete the samurai appearance using the Hollow mask, and will resemble a masked warrior.
Prison of Wind : Ryota will cause cutting winds to begin to swirl around his opponent. Instead of cutting them, they will surround him, creating a small space which is difficult to escape from unless the enemy has a way of dispelling the prison, or protecting themselves. The prison is about three meters in diameter, and if anybody tries to come out, they will be torn up badly as a result, potentially losing a couple of fingers, but most likely will come out with their arms and legs still attached. The prison can be entered from the outside, but it's a one way prison. If it is summoned while an enemy is on the ground, the prison can cut their feet up if they do not form reiatsu underneath to levitate themselves. Having a stronger reiatsu will allow the prison to be dispelled. In addition, the prison can be left stationary for up to half a day, even if the mask decays. After that time, it will naturally dispell itself. Drains five stamina.
Wall of Wind : Using his ability to control wind, Ryota will cause a massive swirl of wind to emerge from below his feet, and will form a small twister that surrounds and protects. These winds have cutting properties, and anybody who gets close will get chopped by the cutting winds. Since it is wind, Ryota will still be able to see an incoming threat from afar. However, if there are loose substances nearby, such as sand, or even water, they will be drawn up from the ground, and blasted around. Drains five stamina per every two posts it is active. If it is only used during one post, it will drain two stamina.
Funnel of Death : In order to use this technique, Ryota will need to have his Shikai or Bankai activated. He could use the poison of another if he wishes. Ryota will generate a funnel of wind, and mix it in with the desired substance, channeling the harmful substance in the wind. He will then direct the funnel towards his enemy. The cutting winds combined with the poison will allow Ryota to give the enemy a dose of poison from far away. If the enemy has an open wound, this will also allow Ryota to deliver the toxins to the opponent. The wind blast is mostly invisible, because it is only wind, and it is difficult to see the poison with an untrained eye.
Hollow Mask Appearance: - Spoiler:
Duration: Eight posts, two post cool down
Zanpakuto InformationZanpakuto Name: Tenchikirite [Heaven and Earth Cutter]
Zanpakuto Looks: - Spoiler:
Zanpakuto Description: In it's sealed form, Tenchikirite possesses no special powers or abilities.
Released Zanpakuto Description: Tenchikirite possesses two abilities because it represents opposites and yin and yang. The primary combat ability of Tenchikirite is the ability to innately produce a poison. This poison is oozed from all over the armor on Ryota's body when the Shikai is released. Every last spike is covered in the poison, meaning cutting the skin of the enemy with one of these spikes will deliver a dose of the poison. In addition, the sword and shield that Ryota carriers both are coated with poison. The poison liquid itself is a dark brown to black color, and represents the yin energy. Because the color of the poison is similar to the color of the armor, it is not easy to spot by an untrained eye, and one can attack Ryota without caution, but they will pay for it by being afflicted by the poison. Every time Ryota secretes his poison, he uses up a stamina point.
The first post after being given the poison, nothing happens. The second post afterwards very, very subtle effects occur. The opponent starts to find slightly more resistant while they are moving. This is because the poison constricts the muscles, making it more difficult to move oneself effectively. Progressively, over about three posts, the opponent will find increasing difficulty in moving their muscles. If one tries to stretch out their arms too far, they will feel intense pain. They will become less agile because their muscles are literally being prevented from moving. In four more posts, the poison will take full effect, almost completely restricting an enemies movement. Though the poison is powerful, a person with enough will power is capable of overcoming the poison's effects, and continue fighting, although they will be impaired while doing so. About five posts after the poison takes full effect, movement will begin to return to the enemy.
In addition to poison, Ryota is also able to use a healing power. Using a white energy, he is able to close up wounds. By focusing his reiatsu to a wounded area, the wound will begin to heal. He can also use it to stop the blood loss in a wound while he is healing it. Also, he is able to extend this healing energy to others in close proximity to him. He is able to provide medical attention to wounded comrades. In addition, he is able to remove poisons from himself, as well as others. If he has accidentally poisoned a comrade, or an enemy poisons them, he can produce an antidote, and remove the toxins from their body. This healing power represents yang energy, and although it is helpful, it takes up stamina to heal injuries. Also, injuries such as broken bones and fatal wounds, or severed limbs cannot be treated well with this power, and require additional medical attention. Minor injuries like cuts, scrapes, and other less significant amounts of damage just require a post and one stamina point to heal. More serious battle wounds like cuts from a blade, being hit by a blunt weapon, and small punctures require two posts worth of healing time as well as three to five stamina points, depending on how much damage is caused. This is determined by experience and common sense. More grievous injuries such as moderately damaged organs, large wounds that result in massive blood loss, and being infected with poison require seven to ten points of stamina to heal, and four to seven posts to heal.
Zanpakuto Release Phrase: “Strengthen my body, ease my soul, Tenchikirite!”
Released Zanpakuto Looks: When the release phrase of Tenchikirite is called, the entire sword will seem to disappear in to thin air. Instead of taking the form of a sword, Tenchikirite takes on the form of body armor, as well as a large shield. Upon activating his sword, Ryota will be clothed in a variety of pieces of armor worn by Samurai. He gains a helmet on his head, with armor that protects the back of his head attached to the back of the helmet. Though it is not conspicious, the helmet is covered in small spikes, and the armor has sharp blades across it. Touching them could result in being cut. The helmet is complete with an air vent at the top, as well as a visor at the front. Metal spikes are attached to the head gear as part of a crest to give Ryota a fearsome appearance. Instead of a mask, Ryota can also done a Hollow mask to complete the appearance.
In addition, the user gains all different types of samurai armor. Including Do (torso armor), Watagami (should straps), Sode (shoulder armor), Kote (sleeve armor), Tekko (hand armor), Kusazuri (tassets), Haidate (thigh guards), and Suneate (greaves). All of these pieces of armor are dark in color, and protect the majority of his body from damage. Since it is armor generated from his Soul Slayer, it is hardly ever able to be sliced by opponents. Against another Shikai and a person of equal power to Ryota, they would find great difficulty in breaking the armor. Bankai attacks, on the other hand, calls for more powerful defense. It is worth mentioning that every piece of armor equipped to him is covered in defense spikes. Many of them are many centimeters in length, and strategically placed so that an attacker can be easily pierced by them. These protective spikes are always drenched in the poison created by this Shikai.
In addition to creating a suit of armor, in place of a sword, the primary tool of battle for Ryota is a large shield. The shield is large, and if he kneels down, the shield will easily be taller than he is. The shield is not rounded, and is similar to a door in shape. There are three spikes at the top of the shield. The shield is made out of metal, and is very sturdy, able to defend against incoming attacks well. The shield is also covered in protruding spikes, which make the shield suitable to be used as a ramming weapon. The shield is close to four feet in height, but is also light and strong. In addition, a katana sword is kept in the armor as well to be used as a supplementary weapon, but the shield is the most used tool. Together, Ryota is able to provide a defense against many attacks. His sword is used to fight against other swordsman during close quarters combat, but his shield is adept at deflecting long range attacks like arrows, cero, ice, etc.
Zanpakuto Spirit: Not surprisingly, since Tenchikirite represents yin and yang, instead of a single Zanpakutou spirit, there are two of them. Though they are technically the same being, they both have completely different personalities, fighting styles, and behavior. They are aptly named “Yin” and “Yang”. Yin is a gloomy being. He is often apathetic towards others, and appears to care little for Ryota. He constantly offers discouragement, and is cold towards Ryota and his counterpart, Yang. Yin is prone to anger, and always seems to be grumpy. Yang, on the other hand, never seems to be discouraged, and is always full of energy in the inner realm. Unlike Yin, Yang offers encouragement for Ryota to do his best in battle and in life. He cannot be made to anger, and is warm towards others. He is the opposite of Yin, but together, the two strike a balance.
Neither of them have a definite appearance. The both of them are shape shifters, never appearing in the same form consecutively. One form is when the two take on the forms of warriors, where Yang can often be found as a white painted samurai, while Yin can take on the form of a black covered ninja. They can also take on the form of carp, where as Yin will be a black fish with a white spot on its back, while yang is a white carp with a black spot on its back. The forms that they can take are infinite, but they appear in shapes most recognizable to Ryota, namely as humans or animals. Both have a wide knowledge, and together have a strong presence inside of Ryota's subconscious, competing with Makaze for the single spiritual body that represents the forces that give Ryota his power.
Zanpakuto Realm: The inner realm of Tenchikirite is very peaceful. It is a highland forest, where the air is clean, and the water is crystal clear. The trees filter much of the light that shines on the forest floor, but even white and pink flowering plants grow here, especially in the clearings. There is a calm stream which flows through the forest. The place is infinitely peaceful, and is a good place to meditate during a tough time. There are many white boulders and rocks scattered through these woods, as well as hills, and even snow capped mountains in the distant horizon. However, there are invisible boundaries inside of the realm that prevent Ryota from leaving this specific area.
The inner realm is constantly inhabited by his Zanpakutou spirits, but it can also be influenced by his inner hollow, which can rot the plants, and bring ruin to the area, turn the sky dark, and turn the stream into blood. However, this does not occur anymore. The trees reach very high, and there are no other creatures in this forest. With the exception of the constant sound of the stream, and the occasional light breeze, this forest is absolutely silent. It is peaceful, yet mysterious at the same time.
Bankai InformationBankai Name: Bankai Looks: External Bankai Alterations: Bankai Description: History and RP sampleHistory: Tragically, Ryota was never given the chance to experience life as a human being. His mother, named Kiyoko, was a good-natured, beautiful young woman. She always brought smiles to the faces of others. Even when she was pregnant, she did not try to make others suffer, and she was anticipating the birth of her baby boy. Ryota's father was named Daisuke. The two loved each other more than anything in the entire world. Their love was worth more to them than their own lives. There was nothing that could tear them apart. They were married, and life for each other was like a dream. However, this story depicts how such a great life can easily be turned upside down, and become a nightmare. This occurred during a dark, rainy day during April. Kiyoko and Daisuke had a horrible fight with one another, the first they had ever had. Furious at one another, Kiyoko walked out of the home, and as she crossed the street, she was struck by a car. The driver was confused, and he soon discovered that he had struck Kiyoko, killing her, and also killing the couple's unborn son in the process.
However, as a result of their fight, Kiyoko could not leave this world. She wanted so desperately to apologize to her husband, who was devastated by the loss. She had left her husband with such horrible memories before she passed, and that despair kept her trapt on this earth. However, as she and her baby died, she did not let go of her child. As a mother, she could not allow her baby to drift away, and the two were chained to one another with their chain's of fate. However, no matter how she tried to communicate with her husband, she could only watch him fall into a deep depression, destroying his own life. Time for her was not infinite, however. Soon, one of their chains was going to corrode, and one of them was going to become a hollow. The prospect of a Hollow being inside of her and consuming her soul from the inside out would be gruesome. However, as she tried desperately to protect her baby, she became a Hollow before her baby boy.
She could not eat her baby's soul, as it was literally inside of her body. So, the baby was incubated inside of the Hollow mother, still a Plus. The Hollow consumed countless amounts of people, including her former husband, her elderly parents, and brothers. Eventually, it was time for that baby to go. It was the first time in recorder history that a Hollow gave birth to a human soul. However, being a Hollow, she saw her baby as nothing except for prey, but before she could consume him, Shinigami who were tracking her slew her, and the baby was sent to Rukongai. Orphaned, the baby simply appeared in Rukongai, helpless. An old couple found the baby, and took it in as their own. To their surprise, they noticed that the baby wanted to be fed, and did not stop crying until its hunger was satisfied. This meant that it possessed spiritual power. For around thirty to forty years, they raised the baby, and he reached a stage of development similar to that of a human six year old.
He began to learn how to speak, and they even gave the child a new name. Because nobody knew his name that was selected for him by his parents, he shared his foster parent's surname, Yamauchi. He was named Ryota because they thought he was a strong willed boy to go through so much in his life. But it was not before long when disaster struck. One night, the old couple died in the middle of the night. Their spirits were very old, but they were determined to be healthy. They did not die of natural causes. The young boy was heartbroken, because those two were the closest things to parents that he had. For a long time, the cause of their death was a mystery. Orphaned once more, Ryota wandered the streets of Rukongai, begging for scraps. To say the least, life was difficult for Ryota. Ryota possessed an ominous aura, and those around him felt as if they were being constricted by some sort of evil force. Was it the will of his mother keeping others away from him?
Ryota grew up in one of the farther districts in Rukongai, which was filled with crime and hardship. However, those that attacked Ryota, purposely or by accident, found themselves being repelled by a phantom like force. It allowed him to survive in this unforgiving place. He clung on to existence, his survival instincts being his sole driving force. Finally, things began to change. When he was all grown up, appearance wise, after many years of painful existence, Shinigami found Ryota. He was tracked down because he was a source of spiritual pressure in the Soul Society. He was imprisoned and isolated. Tests were done on the young man, which were inconclusive. Somehow, the darkness inside of Ryota hid itself in the depths of his soul, emerging from its hiding place only to defend Ryota. However, the boy had spiritual power, and some people in the Soul Society argued that he should be trained as a Shinigami, but others thought only bad things would come of it.
One Shinigami in particular saw great potential in the young Ryota. His name was Takeshi. He was a part of the Gotei 13, the third seated officer of the third division. He personally trained Ryota in addition to his normal training in the Shinigami Academy. At the time he was about eighty years old, but only had the appearance of a teenager. He swiftly graduated from the academy, and joined the fourth division. His Shikai has the ability to heal himself as well as others, which meant that he could shine in that division. However, it also utilized potent poison, which meant he must be careful. The key to controlling his Soul Slayer, Tenchikirite, is balancing the mind and body, so that he is able to equally control his Shikai abilities. However, in recent times, he had been suffering from terrible nightmares, which often involved his former mother. He never knew what she was like, but he learned more about her from the dreams. She was often accompanied by the hazy shape of a beast, who was actually the inner hollow of Ryota.
Eventually, he climbed the ranks, his combat ability growing. He struggled to gain control of his Soul Slayer, but he eventually began to suppress the Hollow on his own. However, he never told anybody about his difficulties with the Hollow. In time, he became so strong, he was promoted to Vice-Captain, soon after achieving his initial release. He was nearing the end of his career as a Shinigami. However, when he became a Vice-Captain, at that exact time, the nightmares began to return when he slept, becoming more gruesome and terrifying than they ever had been before. Soon, he found his ability to control his inner hollow completely disabled. When he awoke one morning, his sword was stained with blood. He had gone on a rampage of death, murdering many Shinigami, including his former teacher, Takeshi. After all, Hollows did go after the ones that meant the most to them in life. In shame, Ryota fled from the Soul Society, hiding himself away from all other people, leaving behind his former life, trying to protect others from the Hollow within.
And that was when he met Dark. Dark, a Vaizard, introduced himself, and showed that he too possessed a Hollow being within himself. Ryota began to train his mind to control the darkness within him. Though his hollow is not completely controlled, he has more or less put the beast in its place. The creature does not dare rear its ugly head inside of his mind. Though he has a ways to go before he is able to truly call himself a master Vaizard, Ryota slowly hones his skills over the ages to better control his powers, overcome mental obstacles, and live happily.
RP Sample: - Spoiler:
The wind blew the grass all in one direction, all of the grass pointing towards the south to the south-west, since it was a north wind. The tree branches and leaves also rustled. Haken's world seemed to slow down as this menacing man launched a powerful attack at him. He had pointed his fingertips straight at Haken, his pointer finger seeming to be pointing towards the space between the two of his eyes. Holes opened on his fingers, and what appeared to be high speed bullets were shot out like a rifle. The wind seemed to blow slowly, and Haken did not move. His dark brown widened eyes just stared the bullets coming at him. He did not flinch, or even attempt to avoid it. The Kaguya Man looked like Reptar.
The bones twisted, and stuck out of his back, and spines made of bone stuck out at various spots on his body, a result of his attempts to puncture Haken when they were in the midst of Taijutsu combat previously. A swirl of dark red and black blotched liquid appeared in front of him, creeping out of the grass, and moving as a single mass, as if it was an animal. The The bumpy, spine covered mass moved in front of him, blocking his head and torso. The front of the liquid defense was half liquid, but inside of the core, the blood was hardened. The white, bone bullets made contact.
Blood splattered from the red blood blob, and dug inside of it. The mushy half liquid half solid absorbed as much of the force from the bullet as it possibly could before it hit the solid surface of the blood. It stopped and was suspended in the blood. One bullet flew past Haken, flying into a tree, breaking part of it, and sending pieces of wood all over the undergrowth, landing on top of bushes and pressing some of their leaves down. The red mass jiggled a little, but in a way that intimidated the enemy, and would leave them shivering. The bones were oozed out, with blood on them. The blood moved out of the way of Haken's white, messy hair, and allowing his single, staring eye to continue looking at the Kaguya.
"You missed." Haken said with a small, indiscreet grin. The blood began to circle around him, moving up like a screw. More blood rose from the grass, and surrounded Haken.
"Akamisuto no Jutsu" He muttered. He began forming hand signs, weaving them like a pro. Finally, he stopped with the Inu, or Dog hand sign, he cocked his head backwards, spread his legs out, and puffed out his chest. Using his Bloodline limit to create more blood for usage, he leaned forward and blowed out an ominous mist of dark crimson mist made of blood. It was angled towards the ground, and upon hitting it, spread out, spreading out in a circular pattern around the open battlefield, The irregular mist rose in the air, and spread into the trees, forming a lethal smokescreen.
Unknownst to his opponent, if he breathed in enough of this mist, the mist would clot inside of his throat, and actually form a minuscule blade inside of his capable foe. The blade could cut his enemy up slowly from the inside out. It was a cruel death for any Shinobi. Just a few breaths of this mist, and his enemies fate would be sealed. Haken stood in the dark mist. He could hardly see in front of him. He could see the ground a few feet ahead of him. He could not see the sky above him either. Haken simply waited inside of his mist, his half solid, floating blood surrounding him. It did not form a good defensive barrier, but it could be controlled, and used to defend him from attack.
